Based on reports from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), at least 9 people in 4 states have ingested the contaminated shrimp products. 3 of those people have been hospitalized, but it is not known if their conditions remained serious after initial treatments. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has stated that the products were likely manufactured up until May 2021, but it is likely that they are still on shelves in August due to their long shelf-life when frozen.
