Mark F. Seltzer
Every day, Mark F. Seltzer and his legal staff work with physicians and
other professionals who are facing the challenge of disability. Mr. Seltzer
maintains the strictest confidentiality, as his clients are often physicians
dealing with addiction and psychiatric disabilities. Nonetheless, Mr.
Seltzer has come to be nationally recognized for his work on disability
insurance law.
Mr. Seltzer has achieved outstanding results in hundreds of the most challenging
cases. He has lectured at major conferences sponsored by the American
Medical Association, the Canadian Medical Association, the American Psychiatric
Association, the American Society of Addiction Medicine, International
Doctors in Alcoholics Anonymous and the Council on Substance Abuse. He
has also spoken on behalf of numerous unions and trial lawyers associations.
Mr. Seltzer's writing is included in the sixth, seventh and eighth
editions of the textbook of the American College of Legal Medicine.
Physicians News Digest and other publications have repeatedly featured his articles on many disability
insurance law-related topics such as "Protecting Your Disability
Insurance Benefits," "ERISA and Long Term Disability Claims"
and "Appropriate Care in Disability Insurance Cases."
Mr. Seltzer has received certificates of merit and commendations from the
U.S. Congress, the New York Senate, the New York State Assembly and other
bodies. He is a member of the American College of Legal Medicine and is
a member of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations.
He is also a member of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, the
Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers
of America.
Mr. Seltzer earned his undergraduate degree cum laude from the University
of Pittsburgh in 1972 and his Juris Doctor degree from the Temple University
School of Law in 1976. In addition, he has earned more than 500 hours
of continuing medical education credits.
